Hourly Wage: $16.02 to
$20.67 (DOQ)
Direct Supervisor: Senior Personnel & Purchasing Analyst
Department:
Business Services Section: Personnel & Purchasing
1)
Assists with performing duties related to payroll
administration, to include reviewing time sheets, entering data into the
District’s financial system, creating reports and issuing checks. Also assists with payroll tax and wage
reporting, to include annual processing of Forms W-2 and W-3.
2)
Assists with performing duties related to employee
benefits administration, to include enrolling employees, reviewing and
monitoring claims, reconciliation of monthly invoices, and updating employee
information.
3)
Assists with performing duties related to recruiting,
to include preparing position announcements, performing pre-employment
background checks, assisting with new hire orientation and maintaining
personnel files.
4)
Assists with duties related to employee relations, to
include scheduling and coordinating various employee meetings and functions,
assisting employees with benefit claims, and providing employees with
educational and informative materials.
5)
Assists the Manager of Personnel & Purchasing
with various annual and special projects as needed.
6)
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required
basic knowledge is normally obtained through formal education resulting in the
receipt of a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Job specific knowledge, skills and abilities
may be obtained through on-the-job-training while employed in a similar
position, or through completion of related vocational classes or programs. At least three (3) years of similar work
related experience with specific duties related to payroll and benefits administration
is strongly preferred. A Bachelor’s
Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or
related field may substitute for up to two (2) years experience. Must be competent in the use of Microsoft
Office (Excel and Word). Familiarity
with using InVision or another similar type of financial system software is
preferred. Must be able to research and
compile data, and then present findings to supervision/management in an
acceptable format. Must be able to
appropriately handle and maintain various forms of confidential and/or
sensitive information. Must possess good
organizational and communication skills, and have the ability to handle
multiple tasks. Must be detail oriented
and have the ability to complete tasks within established timelines. Must be able appropriately respond to
conflict or otherwise potentially stressful situations. Must be able to work independently, as well
as work with others as part of a team.
Must be able to read, understand, and follow instructions. Must possess the equivalent of at least a
Texas Class C driver’s license. Must
pass a pre-employment Drug Screen, Physical Exam, and applicable Background
Checks.
