Janet Aune holds a Ph.D. in Biology and
brings a life-time of professional experience, with notable honors,
to bear on regional water and environmental matters.
Ms. Aune made major contributions
to science and education as Vice-President for Academic Services at
the University of Texas Southwestern Health Science Center at
Dallas.
Earlier in her career, she was
Professor of Biology at Texas Women’s University.
Janet received scholarships from,
and served on review panels for, the National Science Foundation.
In recent years, Janet has enjoyed
cattle ranching and community service activities.
Currently serving on the Board for
Denton County Soil & Water Conservation District, as a Trustee of
the Upper Trinity Conservation Trust, and being on the Watershed
Protection Committee allows Ms. Aune to address her passion for a
healthy environment and protection of water quality in the streams
and lakes of this region.
